University of Gothenburg PhD Position in Peace and Development Research

Fully funded four-year PhD position in Sweden studying host-state responses to transnational repression, open to applicants worldwide.

Fully funded four-year doctoral employment under Swedish doctoral-student terms (SFS 1993:100), including salary and benefits, tied to an international research project on transnational repression in the Nordic-Baltic region.

• Salaried four-year doctoral position (employment, not just a stipend)
• Research funding tied to an international Nordic-Baltic research project
• Up to 20% paid departmental duties (teaching/admin), with a corresponding extension of studies
• Access to a roughly 50-researcher Peace and Development Research environment

• A completed second-cycle (master's-level) degree, 240+ credits including at least 60 at second-cycle level, or equivalent
• At least 60 higher education credits in International Relations, Peace and Conflict Studies, Global Development Studies, or a closely related field
• Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in a relevant case-country language (Swedish, Norwegian, or Estonian) is an asset
• Open to applicants worldwide; non-EU applicants must secure a valid Swedish residence permit before the start of studies
