CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholars Program 2026/2027

Two-year fellowship with $100,000 CAD in research support for early-career faculty worldwide, joining CIFAR's elite interdisciplinary research programs.

• Hold a PhD or equivalent degree
• Hold a full-time faculty position at a higher education or research institution with principal investigator responsibilities and graduate-level teaching or supervision duties
• Have begun your first independent position between July 1, 2022 and December 31, 2026
• Conduct research aligned with one of the five recruiting CIFAR program themes
• Be available for virtual interviews March 23–25, 2027
• Hold a valid passport and ability to obtain travel visas
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Postdoctoral fellows are not eligible

2. 2Prepare your research proposal and supporting materials
3. 3Arrange three letters of recommendation (at least one from a faculty member, preferably one from a non-academic leader)
4. 4Submit your application via the online portal at cifarportal.smapply.io before the deadline
5. 5Shortlisted candidates will be invited for virtual interviews in mid-February 2027
